Gone Forever - Old Somalia

The last democratic elections in Somalia was back in 1969 just before a bloodless coup imposed military rule after the assassination of President Abdirashid Ali Shermarke .....

Its last vaguely effective national government ended in the early 1990's, and it is now fractured in to many differently controlled regions (and even the breakaway state of Somaliland, which is probably the best governed part of the old Somalia, and the semi-independent Puntland which is run by militias).

Trumps Travel Ban Travails

President Trump has reissued his travel ban list (minus Iraq), which of course is still essentially the same list of countries who were under extra scrutiny under President Obama (now minus one). Although you would never know this from the pro-refugee, pro-immigration liberals, who weep every time a refugee is refused entry.

Now I am happy to admit that President Trump is possibly a tower short of a shopping mall, but in this area I actually think he's being rather restrained, as there are many more Islamic paradises he could have included in the list. So with his minimalist list of Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen (six of the seven countries on the original 27 January order), the US have subjected the citizens of those countries to a 90-day travel ban and extra background checks.

Shock, horror - $130m (£85m) of aid to the interim Somali government has gone 'walkies' i.e. missing, aka 'stolen'- taken by 'pirates in suits'.

• This is Africa, these are amongst the most corrupt of all the peoples in Africa and yet people are surprised. 
• This is after all the land where piracy has become a scourge and yet people are surprised. 
• This is the country where kidnap and extortion are a way of life, and yet people are surprised. 

Would you give your taxes to these men? Our politicians do.

Personally I would have been shocked if the money hadn't been stolen by the officials. But then I live in the real world and not the PC La La land that most Western politicians apparently inhabit ... especially when they are handing out our taxpayers money.

Another Bunch Of Religious Zealots

While the C of E continues to debate how to finally abandon actual religious dogma, the Iranian Shiites are still enforcing 'old time religion' like the 7th century was only last week.

Yes they are still whipping and stoning women and male adulterers as though it was only yesterday that Allah had commanded them to do so ..... oddly, despite their claim that Jesus is a 'prophet' of Islam, obviously his command that 'only he is without sin should cast the first stone' is is to be completely ignored in favour of inflicting torture and pain, mainly on women. Under pressure from the world community they have 'suspended' the stoning of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, although crucially they have not said that she won't be killed some other way...... she has already been given 99 lashes witnessed by her son, then in his late teens. 

As this blog has discussed before, stoning women to death is still 'alive and well' in the Islamic world ..... at least the Iranians are 'equal opportunity stoners' with men as well as women stoned, although, its made harder for women ...somehow.

I won't post any pictures of the horror that is a stoning, but simply searching for 'stonings' and images, show the degradation and terror that bearded men of god inflict, when given unrestricted power over ordinary men and women's lives. Every person of conscience should think about this poor woman and the other both men and women who face death for nothing at the hands of Sharia laws.

Another Day, Another Stoning

Once again the Mullahs have shown the world what "Sharia" really means, with reports that a 20-year-old woman divorcee who was convicted of committing adultery in Somalia, has been stoned to death by Islamists in front of a crowd of about 200 people. We have to assume that the Koranic required 'four witnesses' were found (or is that only when a woman's raped?).

It is totally beyond me how any rational people can continue to defend this 'religion' ...... its backward looking and beyond the norms of the civilised world. Oh, the 'boyfriend'? He was given a public flogging, but wasn't killed. This is the fourth reported stoning in Somalia this year (and to be fair it has included a man, and the pregnant woman has been spared the stoning until after she gives birth).

We move ever closer to this being accepted as of equal cultural value to western liberal values.

Crocodile Tears For Human Rights

The Sufi's of Somalia are apparently up in arms (literally in that country) over the desecration of their Mosques and graves sites by the hardliner Wahhabi, al-Shabab terrorists that they allowed to operate from their country.

But before we get too upset for the Sufi’s, remember that when the radicals take over, even their friends suffer ..... so lets not have too many crocodile tears from the Sufi's, who said nothing when Christian graves were scattered in Somalia .....

Crimes against humanity (which they say the mosque closures are), are not restricted to being only when Muslims are being upset. If the Sufi's are now saying that the Wahhabis are 'foreign', it all sounds a little too late to me.

The Wahhabis are not the sole root of militant Islam, and their erstwhile supporters and allies should remember that they have collaborated in attacks on us, when asking the West for help or sympathy.
