I don't know what Julian Assange is worried about. It appears that rape in Sweden is little more serious than a driving offence. This particularly true if you are a foreigner where it's almost a right of passage for Swedish citizenship.

Well in yet another example of Western Liberalism gone very very wrong, a Swedish judge had handed out trivial sentences to three rapists.

There used to be a time when the countries of Central and South America were safe havens for escaping Nazi's such as Adolf Eichmann, and Otto Skorzeny (the Great Nazi War Hero) for example, set up a secret organization named Die Spinne which helped as many as 600 former SS men escape from Germany to Spain, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, and other countries.

Communists such as Trotsky, would also use Central and South American countries as 'safe havens' .... he famously was killed by Stalin's assassins in Mexico City.

The other group that found safe havens in Central and South American countries, were the US and Italian Mafia such as Lucky Luciano, who used these countries as bases of operations when the US or Italian authorities were breathing too heavily on the back of their necks .... Cuba was effectively a Mafia state for a period just after the Second World War.

But now a different breed see South America, and Ecuador in particular, as the place of preference for claiming refugee status ...... now its alleged rapists such as Julian Assange or traitors such as Edward Snowden (who has also asked Ecuador for Asylum) who appear to be the main claimants to the dubious honour roll who have used Southern American states to escape justice.

A quick glance at Ecuador shows that this is not the Sweden of South America (which is probably a good thing as far as Mr Assange was concerned) .... in fact its a rather typical country for that region, with a history of corrupt weak civilian regimes, interspersed with a military junta (1972–79), and as recently as 2010 they declared a one-week state of emergency, which put the military in charge of public order and suspended civil liberties. It also has the usual South America habit of exploiting the the indigenous Indians human rights (which amounts to about 25% of the population) .... but, hey, that's par for the course.

So isn't it rather strange that these self styled champions of democratic freedom choose this rather socially backward state as the model 'state' to get to? ..... unless of course its the fact that it has no extradition treaties with most European countries and the US?

The backers of the rape denier Julian Assange - those that clubbed together to provide him with bail money ('cos his case was sure pure'), have been told that they have to cough up the bond money .... Firstly I am surprised that the money doesn't actually have to be found first i.e. Paid up before the man is released, and not just promised. Its probably the fact that they don't actually have to find the money up front, that explains why so many of the backers of this odious little man were willing to scribble their names on a bit of paper .... made them feel all warm and liberal to get the sex attacker out on the streets.

My how little they cared when he immediately ran to the the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and broke all his bail conditions ..... obviously the skinny 'beast' didn't care much about his backers money, but probably neither were they either. After all, they trusted to the spineless UK legal system, and their friends in Hampstead and Kensington, to simply waive the requirement that they pay the money over for their derelict charge .... and they were almost correct.

The judgement started like this "I accept that they trusted Mr Assange to surrender himself as required. I accept that they followed the proceedings and made necessary arrangements to remain in contact with him" ..... so far so ready to let them off the money. But the judge continued "However, they failed in their basic duty, to ensure his surrender. They must have understood the risk and the concerns of the courts" They have been told to hand over the £93,000 that collectively they vouched on his behalf.

Cue much wailing and gnashing of liberal teeth as they try to get legal aid to recover their money .... no doubt it will end up being the taxpayers who pay for all this, but just for a second, it will have been worth it to see these 'lovers of liberty' squeal, as they realised that they had been duped by a sex offender ... he never has feared going to Sweden, he has always feared paying for his crimes.

We are quite insane in the UK, that's the only conclusion anyone can draw from the fact that someone already deported from the UK, can turn up in the UK again to claim asylum because he was a supporter of the old Gaddafi regime .....Yes Dr Saleh Ibrahim Mabrouk, who was deported for his connection to the killing of a British policewoman PC Yvonne Fletcher in 1984, has managed to enter the country and claim asylum for fraud charges in Libya. The new regime believe that Dr Ibrahim left Libya a few days before the fall of Tripoli, carrying around $200m (£130m) with him.

What other country is so unable to close its borders? What other country has such legal loop holes based upon human rights laws, that they are forced to accept the worst from around the world, and then spend millions on housing them, giving them welfare benefits, and providing them defence lawyers to contest against our own laws?

We have still have Julian Assange ducking and diving in an attempt to avoid rape charges in Sweden, by claiming he faces persecution either there, or because they would then ignore his human rights, and deport him to the tyranny of the United Sates of America .... he has since done a runner and tried to claim asylum from that leader of democracy and human rights, Ecuador. I hope his backers lose their bail money, we certainly have lost millions trying to get him out of the UK.

And to cap another great day in this human rights paradise, an American/Irish citizen who is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and sexually molesting two 11-year-old boys in Minnesota between 1993 and 1994, Shawn Sullivan, who the US wanted back to face court and treatment for his paedophilia, has been freed by UK judges.

Sullivan, who has a conviction for sexually assaulting two 12-year-old girls in Ireland, claimed that the paedophile treatment programme he faced in Minnesota, would breach his human rights. The judges agreed, and he is now free to wander the UK. I expect that if he rapes any children again, they will be free to sue the government (but not the judges), for their human rights being breached, so that's OK then.

Oh, and the reason he can stay here? .... When he was arrested, he was living with Ministry of Justice policy manager Sarah Smith, she then married him while he was in prison, thus giving him UK rights. You can hardly credit it can you ...

All these episodes are reasons to be ashamed of our justice system, and not a matter of national pride as some politicians would have us believe.
