To Hell In A Hand Basket

The world this week is sadly still as depressing and lacking in 'something righteous and hopeful for a change' (as Kelly's Heroes character Oddball would have said) ....

Oddball The Positive Thinker
Oddball The Positive Thinker ......

... as it was last week, and will be next week.

  • The Labour Party is full of leaks and in fighting, with revelations that Ed Balls disliked Tony Blair and wanted his mate Gordon Brown in power (hardly a surprise, or revelation), and that the Miliband Brothers aren't talking after Ed stabbed David in the back over the party leadership (again hardly a surprise) .... its just a surprise that anyone is surprised.
  • Yet another group of Pakistani  men have been arrested and charge with paedophile grooming of white girls in a northern English town (these offences should be classed as a 'race crime' but isn't, unless its Whites on Asians), this is a problem that has developed as a direct result of mass unregulated immigration, but previous reports of the issue, were often swept under the carpet or under reported by Labour politicians and Labour councils in these northern English towns, because it was not 'PC' to discuss it while Labour were in power.
  • Germaine Greer has called the British Army 'potential rapists' and linked them to the bunch of animals in Gaddafi's army, which has been gang raping women, allegedly as an act of revenge on rebel towns, which she also thinks is a 'demented' claim .... she has never lived in the Muslim world (frankly she would likely have been killed or raped years ago if she had), so she has the luxury of saying it isn't happening. All this while blithely ignoring the evidence of the Libyan woman lawyer who was gang raped by Gaddafi's men in Tripoli, and who in her distress went to the foreign press hotel to complain (before being bundled away by secret police), and who was also described as "a drunk, a prostitute and a thief" by regime spokesmen.  Or the example of the mass sexual assault and beating, of US female reporter Lara Logan in Egypt's Tahrir square. Or even those 'demented' charities that are rushing to offer abortions to rape victims before their own fathers, brothers, or husbands 'honour kill' them. I have commented before on the cowardice of the 'women's page warriors' who will attack men of their own culture, but won't challenge the assaults on womankind by an entire religion and culture ..... the cost of this could eventually prove to be very high for the 'sisters of the left'
  • And finally, the Syrians are busy killing each other in yet another bloody uprising, and some of its citizens apparently want to know why 'Christian Armies' aren't attacking the regime and defending them (answer: Russia & China)..... not once have they asked where the 'Arab or Muslim armies' are to protect them from their genocidal regime? This is the same country and people who still regularly calls the US and UK (for that's who they mean by Christian Armies) 'Infidels', 'Crusaders' and 'Kafirs', and is still at war with Israel .... indeed some of them tried to cross the border in to Israel after being bribed to do so by the regime.  Many were killed or injured in the incident, some by Israeli soldiers, but many more by Syrian landmines, which litter their side of the border and through which they were marching .... just another day in the Middle East.
... in other words, the world is still going to hell in a basket!

Oy vey ... Ed Milliband Is The New Labour Leader

Ed Milliband has just been elected leader of the Labour Party, with 51% of the votes over his brother David who had 49% in the final round..... Diane Abbot got just 7.5% in the first round and was irrelevant (as we predicted).

Milliband - Never Mind The Quality ... Look at the Percentage!
Never Mind The Quality ... Look at the Percentage!

A brief biography shows that PC politics is still alive and kicking in the Labour Party ....

  • He's got a 'partner' and child but hasn't bothered to get get married.
  • His father was Marxist theorist Ralph Milliband who entered the UK illegally on forged papers.
  • Has only been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster North since 2005.
  • He is of the Jewish faith.
  • He only got to win with Trades Union support.
Surely the fastest rise to the top of the tree ever .... five years from entry into Parliament to leader of the main opposition.

Of course this raises a few questions .....
  1. How will the Muslim voters react to the Labour Party being led by a Jewish leader? .... could lose a few votes there I would guess.
  2. How will the Muslim World react to the Labour Party being led by a Jewish leader, especially if he becomes PM? .... badly I would think.
  3. Will his late fathers Anti-American and Communist articles come back to haunt him?
  4. As he's got a child, but never got married, what sort of social example does he give?
I guess that only time will tell, but I suspect that the Labour Party may just come to regret this outrĂ© choice .... there must be a risk that anti-semitism (which is is alive and kicking amongst some of the Labour working class and the Labour voting Muslim communities in the UK), will impact votes .... the fact that the Labour Parties relationship with Israel  has been frosty recently may only complicate matters.

New Labour, Old Policies

The Labour Party is electing a leader today ....... you would hardly know it had been going on, from the lack of coverage by the press .... apparently, according to Lord Kinnock (a leader who failed at the national polls), the party is revived and "ready to regain the trust of the people", with  increased membership.  They now 'get it' and can resume leading the British people to a better future.

This sort of blindness is not exclusive to the 'Welsh wonder', in fact all of the candidates and their supporters have been speaking in similar terms.

Talk about hubris!

  • Not one mention of the Blair / Brown years or wars.
  • Absolutely no apology for the reckless spending that's hamstrung the economy.
  • No discussion of the social and economic consequences of mass third world immigration into the UK.
  • No promises to never impose a prime minister on the UK without an election (oddly they would still be in power if they had done this at the time).
In fact no acknowledgement that the Labour party has in anyway had a hand in creating the unhappy mess that's the UK.

It's been one of the strangest sights of this summer, watching the Labour Party act and sound as though it hadn't been in power for the last 14 years, and that it wasn't just  on the 6th of May that they surrendered power (Yes, just 20 weeks ago) ..... I

Full UK Scoreboard   Party Seats    Gain   Loss   Net    Votes            %       +/-%

Conservative                     307                    100        3      +97     10,726,614    36.1    +3.8
Labour                               258                     3            94     -91       8,609,527   29.0    -6.2
Liberal Democrat             57                        8           13      -5         6,836,824   23.0   +1.0

They got over 2 million less votes than the Conservatives, and less than 2 million more votes than the Liberals, but they 'get it' now ...... so that's OK then.

Labour's Phoney Debate

The Labour Party Leadership fight was given an artificial 'boost' when Dianne Abbot surprisingly got past the thirty supporters mark that was needed to get to the next stage of the contest ...... then came the revelations.

The main candidates are Andy Burnham, David Miliband, Ed Miliband and  Ed Balls (after left winger John McDonnell pulled out). However Ms Abbot had not picked up enough votes, and looked to be out of the contest until fellow candidate David Miliband then said he would give her his support (he already had all he needed), and encouraged others to do so - so in stepped acting party leader Harriet Harman, who said she wanted to see a woman in the contest.

Ms Abbot, doesn't consider it in the least demeaning that the only way she could get to be the token women / ethnic candidate was by the artificial process of vote stuffing, and the support of a white middle class male. But then as we know she has that facility of saying one thing and doing another (aka hypocrisy), so she can apparently genuinely believe that this shows she has a body of support in the Parliamentary Labour Party.

"There's been a huge surge of letters and emails from party members saying that they wanted a diverse group of people running in this leadership contest and I think David Miliband and others responded to the feelings of the membership."

"There is nothing artificial about the party's and public's interest in my candidacy," she told the BBC News channel, adding that she expected to win backing "from across the party" once the contest got under way for real.....

Still she won't have to worry in the future as Ms Harman has also confirmed that from now on the Labour Party cabinet posts will be determined by gender quotas (that give women 50% of the seats even though they only make up 25% of the MPs), so it's only a matter of time before its 'ethnic quotas' as well, so she will probably become leader without the need to ever be voted in, when Labour next get a chance to make race quotas the law next time they are in power.

What a nasty prospective future they are leading us all towards...... it will come though. As a white male, I may as well emigrate now, because "there's no future. In Labour's dreaming," (with apologies to the Sex Pistols)

Labour Leadership Attracts Strange Bedfellows

Diane Abbott wants to be Labour Leader - I guess she considers that she has all the required attributes:
  • Hypocrisy: She's sent her son went to a *private school with mainly white teachers and pupils, while she tried to stop anyone else aka white middle-class parents doing the same.
  • Media Friendly - she appears on a late night politics show with an ex-Tory MP and ex- Sunday Times editor, mostly having a pop at the then Labour Government.
  • Left Whinger - A member of the Socialist Campaign Group. She espouses all the 'right on' policies of the left (but see Hypocrite).
  • Absolute Party Loyalty - she has made personal attacks on a number of Labour Ministers and has seemingly not signed up to the idea of collective party/government responsibility.
  • Strong Union Base - she was an Cambridge graduate, who has never worked with any mainstream unions .... a 'high flyer' in the Civil service, Race Relations Officer at the National Council for Civil Liberties from 1978 to 1980 (Amongst her colleagues at NCCL were Harriet Harman, Patricia Hewitt and Paul Boateng, all later becoming Labour Cabinet Ministers...... which tells you a lot about that organisation) and MP and the 'media' (ah hem).
  • Economic Competence - Like all of the 'Left' she advocates spending everyone's money, even after its all gone (ala Gordon Brown), and of course
  • No chance of ever winning a national election unless it was held solely in Peckham, Cheetham Hill, Moss Side and of course Hackney North and Stoke Newington ......
*Her decision to send her son to the private £10,000 a year City of London School, which she herself described as "indefensible" and "intellectually incoherent", caused controversy and was seen by many as hypocritical not least because she had previously criticised Tony Blair and Harriet Harman for sending their children to selective state schools.

It later emerged that Abbott had in fact applied to a total of three separate private schools for her son, and thus apparently had no intention of ever sending him to a state school. Fellow Hackney Labour MP Brian Sedgemore condemned Abbott for the "hurt and harm she had caused to local people in Hackney" who didn't have the means to make a similar choice, suggesting that Abbott would "never be taken seriously again".

Well we shall see .......

The other candidates are ......

  • Andy Burnham
  • David Miliband
  • Ed Miliband
  • Ed Balls
  • John McDonnell
