A raccoon spent 20 hours scaling the 25-storey UBS office Tower in St Paul city, Minnesota ...
The pictures and videos went around the world.
There were a million Spider-Man and Mission Impossible jokes.
However it then turned out that this particular raccoon had previous for scaling tower blocks. It had been originally spotted on the roof of a nearby two-storey office block. Some reports state that it had been there for two days without food or water, before being removed by maintenance workers.
But, it then seems to have simply returned and tackled an even taller block. Why it should want to make this climb is something of a mystery, as there was nothing at the top apart from a great view ... Oh and a bowl of cat food inside a humane trap.
It was later released “on private property at an undisclosed location, after consultation with the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center”. Wildlife experts said there might be a dozen or two dozen raccoons in every square mile in Minnesota alone ..... they are largely viewed as pests and killed.
