Well another year has passed on this blog .....
And Christmas has rolled round again .....
..... And all I can say is PHEW! .... made another one!
I have to admit that I am actually rather ambivalent about the actual day itself, but I do enjoy the period of the run up, and the period between the two holidays of Christmas and New Year.
My ambivalence about Christmas day probably stems from a period of my life in my teens, in which money was so tight that we didn't celebrate Christmas with presents etc, so the anticipation was far better than the actual event, which was actually rather flat.
I have never really got over that expectation of it being flat, despite my circumstances changing over the years, and now that I am living alone again, that is again the reality.
But as that's only one or two days out of a generally happy festive period, I don't mind .... So all that is left to do is anticipate next week and say ....
