Snowflake Beer (Brewers Drooped)

Now as bitter beer drinker (I drink a type of beer called 'bitter', I'm not bitter whilst drinking it) ...

One Of These Beers Is Deemed Offensive By Someone .....
One Of These Is Deemed Offensive By Someone .....

....  I am used to beers having odd names.

Names such as: Nik's Bitter (But Never Angry), Deez Nuts, Hooky Bitter, Mooey, Boxing Day Bitter, Dirty Tackle Ale, Pitchfork Rebellious Bitter, Tiny Tim, Norfolk Wherry Best Bitter, Firkin Fox, Waxie's Dargle, Golden Showers, Yellow Snow, Bump 'n' Grind, and Original Nuttah to name but a few. I could go on and on, as there are hundreds of local micro brews produced in the UK.

They can be funny, odd, euphemistic, or clever plays on words but no one ever takes them seriously or considers them offensive ...... well until now. Apparently our cancel culture of taking offence at everything, and allowing a handful of complaints to remove products from production (even closing companies), has now reached such an insane level of stupidity, that the advertising regulators have started censoring the names beers.

Dirty Tackle Ale - No Double Entendre?
Dirty Tackle Ale - No Double Entendre?

Now in the small list I have produced above, two have ceased production in 2021, not because they didn't sell well (one of the two has sold thousands of cans), but because they were deemed offensive to someone (not actually named). If you haven't guessed which two, I'll tell you that it isn't
Deez Nuts, nor is it Golden Showers, or even Dirty Tackle Ale .... no its Bump 'n' Grind, and Original Nuttah .... the former was deemed too suggestive as it had a "direct association with sexual activity"; while the latter was deemed "a derogatory reference to mental illness."

Whatever next? Perhaps we will need to rename cocktails (which is suggestive in itself oo-er) such as the Hanky Panky, Sloe Comfortable Screw Against The Wall, Sex On The Beach, Sand In The Crack, Sex With An Alligator ... to name but a few. We live in a time where complaining puritan snowflakes are gaining the upper hand.

On the same theme its also been reported that retail giant Amazon has been attacked, by possibly as many as three idiots, for selling little girls (up to the age of 4) jumpers/sweaters emblazoned with the legend "Sorry boys, daddy says no dating". One man tweeted that it was 'creepy' while another woman said 'when is it ever OK to sexualise toddlers' .... the little boys version has the legend 'Lady Killer' ... but strangely no one has complained about that.

What once used to be a matter of personal humour, is now subject to control by those who seek to take offence at anything. We reap what we sow ...
