Woke Woes

The South West London tennis club had fallen prey to the woke curse that was/is sweeping the UK like a pandemic .....

.... They had removed the female gender option from their on-line membership forms. When women tried to join or renew at £300 pa they found no female gender option.

When one woman queried this, she was told that it was now 'Female (including trans trans women), and same for men where it was now 'Male (including trans man), they also had "Non binary", and "Other". This they explained made it "more inclusive".

Of course this put women at great risk, as biologically intact males would be allowed in the women's changing rooms which were not necessarily equipped for the multi-sex experience. This nonsense was part of the slow death of female sport from the grass roots upward and an attack on female identity everywhere. Personally in this case I would have simply organised a renewal boycott by all the 100% women, and let the club wallow in their woke paradise, by forming or joining another club.

However fate took a hand, and the UK's Supreme Court said that the equality law was written with biological women, not men who claimed to be women, as its premise. Now the tennis club and all sports such as the Football Association are having to change their recently written woke rules, to exclude anyone who is not a biological woman, from women's sports and safe spaces such as changing rooms or women's wards in hospitals

But .. the story doesn't end there, because a UK judge who happens to also declare themself as a trans-woman, has said that they are going to challenge the UK Supreme Courts decision in the European Courts (I thought we left the EU to escape this nonsense), as the Supreme Courts unanimous decision had infringed trans-people's human rights .... I wasn't aware that the humans rights included the right for someone to declare themselves to be another sex (only in the morally weak and woolly West I guess).

So this post has had to be held back until this had played out in more legal nonsense about what is a woman. If I was a woman (and I'm not ... I do know the difference even if a small group of strange individuals don't), I would vote against any party that proposes to make some biological men women. Keir Starmer the UK's morally rudderless Prime Minister has flip flopped on what is a woman for at least five years, while somehow declaring that women's safe spaces would be protected (even if biological males were allowed to invade them) .... he's now firmly of the opinion that women are only those born biologically women (unless the European Courts rule otherwise), then he'll volte-face and pretend he thought this all along. 

I recall the time when the Labour Party had dealings with a paedophile pressure group in the 1970's and nearly ended up in a trap initiated by a Gay Rights group .... the campaign sounds familiar with today's LGTBQ+ pressings for the right of trans-women to get into women's safe spaces? The Labour Party is flirting with danger again ... neither the Conservatives, nor Reform party back any of this nonsense about men being women, and this may become a major issue at the next election.

As I wrote the first draft of the post, the question has not been ruled on but European courts have often gone against national courts on this matter in the EU. I just hope that Europe's judges show as much common sense and backbone as our Supreme Court .... but if not, I fear for our culture, women's sports and women's safe spaces. There will of course be an update/edit as soon as the legal battle is over and I can cover the outcome, and any fallout if the European court tries to over rule our supreme court.
