A Bad Turn In The Road To Freedom

The recent events in Ferguson, Missouri, which once again was the centre of uncivil unrest by a community, which always seems to fall back on violence, and then blame the authorities for responding, are indicative of a lot more than the simplistic idea that 'whitey is always oppressing the black man'. It actually points directly to the question of what sort of civil communities the black populations really want to live in.

Plenty Of 'Gang Colours' On Display On A Peaceful Protest ....

The questions all the organisers of these peaceful protests have to ask are:
  1. Would Martin Luther King and the other civil rights campaigners in the 1960's, really have allowed half-dressed young males, to confront the police face on in a series of 'peaceful protests'?
  2. Would they have allowed black males sporting 'gang colours' (e.g. Crips bandanna's) to be at the forefront of their peaceful protests?
  3. Would they have allowed young men with guns to have been running around the fringes of the protests, or for shots to be fired at the police?
  4. Would they allow locals cars to be burned and local shops and businesses (many of which are black owned or managed), to be looted every time there is a protest march?

If the answer to these questions is NO! (which is what we would hope).

Then that is where the Black civil rights movement has gone very tragically wrong .... seemingly subverted by the very forces that apparently hinder all attempts by black communities around the globe to rise under their own efforts. Violence, and the propensity of young black males to use that violence to gain whatever their immediate ends are.

The Man Who Was Shot Had A Hand Gun ....

One of the protesters interviewed by the BBC (it would be wouldn't it), said that the police should just give the black community 'their own space' .... well, if they do, history has shown, you just get the jungle.

It is in fact often the bravery of many, mainly white, police officers in Ferguson, and countless other locations across the US (and other countries where significant African/Caribbean immigration has occurred), in attempting to 'police' in communities, where self regulation has often all but collapsed, that stops us seeing the complete breakdown of daily law and order across entire swathes of major cities.

Ethnic minority communities in our societies, whether Black, Latino or even Asian, are notoriously incapable of policing themselves by civil expectations, to standards we would expect in the non ethnic communities, whether that be in the ganglands of Los Angeles in the USA .... or the endemic corruption and politically correct policing in Tower Hamlets in London.

As it is, the recent killings of black men by police and other local vigilantes in the USA, are indicative of the growing unease and reaction to the rise of 'gangsta' communities, in both the black, and Latino areas of US cities. What has driven this reaction to what was to have been a peaceful anniversary march of last years riots in Ferguson, is the apparent willingness of many of the young males from the Black (or Latino) communities, to consider violence as an acceptable method of civil protest. This is what causes such a trigger happy response from anyone else who feels threatened by them.

For instance, a self appointed group called the Oath Keepers, a largely white militia, turned up in Ferguson, adding tension to the events, while claiming that they have the right to "defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic". This is seemingly a direct reaction to the apparent breakdown of any law and order in the town.

We need ethnic communities to take responsibility for their own shortcomings, before laying all the blame on those amongst whom they have often chosen to live.

    1. Kinda reinforces the fact that 'peaceful protest' ain't 'peaceful' when there are guns in the hands of the 'peaceful protesters'. Thanks for the comment and the link.

  2. There are people who just won't face reality in the white community. Black immigration has failed. The same goes for Muslims. They can't adapt or integrate but we continue to let them swamp us.

    1. Multiculturalism or Globalisation, take your choice over terms, is here to stay for the rich western countries, whether you or I like it or not. Once Pandora's box is opened, all the evils of the world cannot be put back in it again. The social experimenters of the 60's and 70's who allowed mass non-European migration were deluded fools, but I agree with you that when you have dug yourself into a hole, you just don't keep digging, or as Albert Einstein put it "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Thanks for the comment
