Disunited United Nations

The United Nations has definitely lost its way in recent years .... 

United Nations Fails Again ....

...... and the crisis in the Ukraine has just highlighted this fact.

Another pointer is that its Human Rights Council now regularly includes members with appalling human rights records, such as the Phillipines and Eritrea. 

Then there are its strange Special Rapporteur's, such as Professor Joseph Cannatacithe from Malta, who is a Special Rapporteur on the Rights To Privacy. He thinks that Britain's attempts to stop Islamic terror supporters streaming or watching terrorist contest on-line, amounts to a thought crime. He described proposed laws as "arbitrary" and "pushing a bit too much towards thought crime". 

He had previously described British oversight over personal privacy protection as being “a joke”, and said the situation is worse than anything George Orwell could have foreseen. He has since said that things are a little better here now .... although as nothing has changed, its hard to see why he has altered his views. 

In 2017 in Malta, Daphne Caruana Galizia writer, investigative journalist, and anti-corruption activist, was murdered with a car bomb. She had been reporting on government corruption, nepotism, patronage, allegations of money laundering, links between Malta's on-line gambling industry and organized crime, Malta's citizenship-by-investment scheme, and payments from the government of Azerbaijan  .... case unsolved.

Meanwhile, the UN also sent Australian Professor Philip Alston, Special Rapporteur for Extreme Poverty and Human Rights to Britain (the fifth richest country on the planet). He was here to decide if the UK's austerity measures has gone to far. 

His post visit statement concluded that our attempts to balance the government books had resulted in "14 million people, a fifth of the population, live in poverty. Four million of these are more than 50% below the poverty line, and 1.5 million are destitute, unable to afford basic essentials." .... I should point out that in Australia, 2.65 million adults and children are estimated to be living below the official poverty level ... that's at least 1 in 10 of the population, including close to a million children (1 in 5).

.... then finally the UN decided to send the Zambian, Ms. E. Tendayi Achiume as Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance to old Britain for a bit of the old whitey bashing. She announced that Britain, is now more racist than ever before because of Brexit .... What can you say? In 2016 Two people were burned to death during xenophobic violence in Zambia's capital, Lusaka

Britain is therefore classed as being on a par with the hundreds of third world hell holes by the UN. Designated as a state that spies on its inhabitants, where millions live in absolute poverty, surviving on food banks and charities, while racially abusing all foreigners. 

Laughable .... no wonder Donald Trump barely bothered to disguise his contempt for the organisation.
