Denny's restaurants are ubiquitous in the US, but not so in the UK ...

.... and indeed I'm not sure if we have an equivalent (perhaps Wimpy or McDonald's).
In April 2021 a closed Denny's in Evansville, Indiana was broken into just after 2am, and the two intruders who were caught on CCTV made straight for the kitchens and cooked themselves eggs. The two were then seen to leave the premises.

However about an hour later the two were recorded and cooked themselves some more eggs, but this time they were confronted by an employee and fled. The Denny's manager estimated the total losses as being "about $1.00" (the cost of the eggs) .... however the police are searching for the two suspects, who could face theft and criminal trespass charges if caught.
