You can't make any of this stuff up ...

Tyler Robinson - Charlie Kirk Arrest And Trial

.... the information that is spewing out on the Tyler Robinson - Charlie Kirk investigation is frankly astonishing.

Not just quantity of, but also the quality of the details. Things that might have been considered detrimental to a fair trial are being released daily. For instance, how are you going to pick a neutral jury when there is a daily avalanche of detail about the suspect and his private life.

It's been widely disseminated that Tyler Robinson's love interest is a man who is wanting to transition into the form of a woman. This fact alone is going to form opinions about the personality of Tyler Robinson in any juries mind. 

Then there is the fact that there are the text messages between Tyler Robinson and his lover, in which he clearly states he had killed Charlie Kirk, which were released to the press, and have surely made any not guilty plea futile (despite Mr Robinson possibly wanting to make that initial plea in court), and indeed, any sort of real court defence impossible? 

They are after all pretty damming:

Roommate: you weren't the one who did it right????
Robinson: I am, I'm sorry

Roommate: I thought they caught the person?
Robinson: no, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering.

Roommate: Why?
Robinson: Why did I do it?

Roommate: Yeah
Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can't be negotiated out. 

... this sort of information is normally disclosed as part of a court trial ... but its all out in public months before any trial date, and just days after Robinson was arrested. 

Oddly, the 'crazy old dude' mentioned in the messages by Robinson, was arrested and named as 71 year old George Zinn, who had initially told the police that he had killed Mr Kirk, but he had later admitted to police investigators that he had "yelled that he was the shooter to allow the actual suspect to flee." 

He has also been charged and held in jail, in his case on obstruction of justice charges. It was also confirmed that he has also been charged separately, on possession of child sex abuse material. In particular, for the sexual exploitation of a minor, and after agents had found more than 20 images of children "in various stages of undress and sexual posing." 

So, this crime appears to have elements of everything. Christian fundamentalist beliefs, evangelical Christian politics, right-wing political views, homosexual - trans-gender ideology, Mormon upbringing, Republican parents, and with a paedophile tacked on as a sideshow trial. 

It's hard not to think that if this is not already a circus, it surely will become so when the trial finally starts (well at least two trials, as Robinson faces both a state and federal trial for the killing).
