In a confirmation of everything that I have said about talentless celebrity in the UK ...
.... a recent poll of 1,000 members of generation Z (young people between the ages of 15 and 24 year olds), by Acuvue came up with exactly the results you might expect.
In the poll:
While getting these quick riches, fifty per cent wanted to get married (mostly by age 30) with seventy five per cent wanting children.
Prediction: 90 percent of them will not achieve any of these aims ... well maybe being teachers, if this is an example of what our schools churn out.
It would be laughable how delusional these results show them to be, if it wasn't so frightening how entrenched idiocracy is in our Western societies. There are people out there, who will write to to TV soap actors saying things like `it's not fair that you've been sent to prison / lost your boyfriend etc etc', as they are not able to distinguish between the events and characters on TV dramas and reality.
Similarly it now appears that by simply pointing a camera at absolutely anybody, you can make them a celebrity, and such is the hunger for content to fill up the hundreds of TV channels being broadcast, that there are no shortages of cameras out there. Of course the inherent issue with this is that most of them have absolutely no discernible talent (except maybe for self-promotion, bad behaviour in public places such as in nightclubs, driving badly while drunk or drugged, and worst of all for making quite shockingly bad television) .... and nearly all of them for just being monumentally stupid.
For legal reasons I can't actually name individuals, but any contestants on Love Island, Non Celebrity Big Brother, Made in Chelsea, The Only Way Is Essex etc will do .... depressingly the list of these TV shows goes on and on and on. This encourages generation Z, and the one preceding it, to believe that riches can be obtained with no hard work, talents, moral compass or intelligence.
When Andy Warhol suggested that society would evolve to give everyone their '15 minutes of fame', we probably never guessed it meant almost literally everyone. Nor that those 15 minutes could turn talentless nobodies, into equally talentless - but considerably richer - 'celebrities'.
Being Talentless Doesn't Stop People Trying ..... |

In the poll:
- Over 25 per cent said that they wanted to be a famous YouTuber i.e. VLogger.
- The same number said that they would only take a "normal job" only if it paid more than £40,000 pa ... yeah really, they believe unemployment on £58.90 pw ($73.50) and for 25 or over £74.35 pw ($92.78) is better than working for anything less than £40k pa (£769 pw) .
- 18 per cent would be a teacher.
- 17 per cent would be a doctor.
- 14 per cent would be a lawyer.
- 6 per cent fancied fame via reality TV show 'Love Island'.
- 4 per cent fancied becoming an MP
- 3 per cent wanted to become a dentist.
- 20 per cent think that University is a waste of time.
- 18 per cent want to start their own business.
While getting these quick riches, fifty per cent wanted to get married (mostly by age 30) with seventy five per cent wanting children.
