There are some perverts who are below human decency .....

Kasim Khurum

.... one such is 23 year old Kasim Khurum.

He sports a Pakistani flag tattooed on his neck and two tear drops on his face. So obviously he wants us all to think he's a hard man, who has either been in prison for two years (every chance with this subhuman) or that he's killed two people (not likely with this imbecile). 

On the 11th of November 2018, at around 3am while under what he claimed where the influence of Mamba (Black mamba aka the 'zombie drug' is a synthetic cannabinoid drug that is highly addictive and extremely dangerous), PCP (Anaesthetic drug aka Angel Dust) and Vodka, he visited a Co-Op Funeral home and broke in. His aim was to have sex with a female body.

Oblivious to the blaring alarms he opened nine coffins, before selecting his victim and proceeded to have penetrative sex with the corpse. Police officers turned up and arrested him at the scene and in view of the sickness of the scene, they sectioned him under the mental health act for evaluation. But when he came out of his druggy state he was returned to police custody.

When he eventually appeared before a judge in December 2018, he pleaded guilty and admitted to one count of sexual penetration of a corpse and one of of burglary (what happened to a charge of Necophilia?).... but at the sentencing in February 2019, despite being previously warned that he faced a "a substantial sentence of imprisonment" by the judge, he was only given six years, of which he will serve just 3 at most. 

In the UK, despite the outrage and distress caused by such acts, necrophilia is today punishable by a maximum of two years in prison, so the judge in fact gave him the maximum, but also added 4 years for burglary ... that's kind of a slap in the face, for a burglary to be deemed more of a crime than desecrating a corpse.

All those involved in the prosecution must have been disappointed .... as well as the families of all the disturbed corpses and the desecrated corpse. Baljinder Kaur, from the CPS, said: "This is an unusual case and it is difficult to imagine a more distressing violation of a loved one. Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased."

Det Ch Insp John Askew said: "This is an horrendous and disturbing act. Our thoughts remain with all those who have been affected by this crime."

David Fuller - Serial Necrophiliac

Sadly, he isn't the only such despicable human being, in fact his offences pale into almost insignificance, when compared to 68 year old serial necrophiliac David Fuller. His crimes began when he was aged 33 (if not before .... there's just no evidence pre-home computers), after he was linked in 2020 to the murders of Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, in two separate attacks in Tunbridge Wells, in 1987 (in which he had sex with their corpses). 

Police also uncovered on his computers, CD's, DVD's at his home, the systematic sexual abuse of the corpses of females aged between nine and 100, at the now-closed Kent and Sussex Hospital and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital, in Pembury, where he had worked in maintenance since 1989. He would abuse female bodies after the mortuary staff left their shifts and the mortuary was left unlocked.

He was given two whole life sentences for the murders and was also given concurrent  sentences (what f*cking point are concurrent sentences??? ... they should always be consecutive) totalling 12 years in respect of sexual offences against 78 deceased females at mortuaries in Tunbridge Wells Hospital and at the former Kent and Sussex Hospital. 

Evidence was then uncovered of a further evidence of a further 23 victims aged between 45 and 92 – 10 of whom have never been identified, making a total of 101 deceased females abused in these mortuary settings, between 2005 and 2020 for which he got a further 4 years concurrent .... so again pointless and insulting.

The daughter of a ward sister who was abused by Fuller after her death spoke in court of her “absolute disgust” at Fuller’s actions, describing him as a “monster”. Det Supt Ivan Beasley added "Today’s sentencing will mean little to this abhorrent individual, who throughout our investigation has demonstrated no remorse and only a capacity for self-pity". 

Due to failures of the NHS in preventing corpses being abused, the families of victims who were abused by Fuller are to receive compensation from Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. More than 200 relatives of people abused by Fuller have made claims for compensation ..... although its hard to think of an amount that would actually compensate the families.

An official enquiry, found a number of management failures led to him getting away with the abuse for so long. Its recommended installing CCTV cameras in mortuaries, and ensuring non-mortuary staff are always accompanied, and that bodies are not left out of fridges overnight.

It was also highlighted that the UK's funeral sector is unregulated in anyway by law. Obviously this means that further abuses may be occurring in the private sector ..... so funeral directors do not need a licence, experience, qualifications or training, and they can use whatever facilities and equipment they choose. This leaves it open to unsavoury operators who may not care for the dignity of the deceased or even act as David Fuller did. The simplest solution would be a code of practice and security, and inspections annually by the local council.

Oddly, at least one man who had died had requested that his family eat him rather than have a funeral and burial, or cremation .... it was refused because as we have seen cannibalism is illegal in the UK.
