For instance, why would grown men tie or clip their beards together in a line to create a beard chain? Apparently they do, and there is a world record for the length formed .... The current Guinness World Record for the longest beard chain is 195 ft 3 in (59.51 m), set on November 3, 2023 at the US National Beard and Moustache Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. The chain was formed by 86 bearded participants, who stood side by side and linked their beards together with hair clips. A notorized surveyor measured the chain between the noses of the first and last competitors.
This broke the previous record of 150ft 10.75 inches (45.99 m), set at the same championship the year before. They also have Moustache chains (27 participants at 20ft 4 inches) and even partial beard chains (24 participants at 42ft 8 inches).
Only in Florida I guess .... How daft is this? Why bother? I am for once almost speechless.
