..... who was facing a disciplinary hearing, after being caught with 18 gram of cocaine hidden near his genitals.
This was following a number of complaints about his behaviour as the priest of the village of Agia Varvara. Mrs Frosso Pagouni, said that he had psychological problems, and he had threatened her several times, saying he would kill her. She added that he had borrowed money from her husband, which he not only did not return, but he also did not pay the bills he had run up for the month he stayed in their house, while his house was built near to the church.
He had also defaulted on bills across the village, and as Mrs Pagouni, said "He left a huge debt to the church of about 25 to 27 thousand Euros. Until recently, our new priest, Father Evlogios, was paying his debts." How this hidden stash of cocaine was discovered, is not mentioned in reports (and the mind boggles), but the bishops and lawyers were convened to a meeting, to decide if the 37 year old priest should be struck off.
However Kombos took the matter in to his own hands, by throwing a bottle of acid over the assembled committee. All the seven bishops, a police officer, a lawyer and another clergyman on the committee had to be treated in hospital for acid burns to head, faces, and hands .... Kombos was arrested and handcuffed, and later defrocked, and also faced several criminal assault charges.
According to Greek Police officers, the 37-year-old priest was previously involved in drug trafficking, after being prosecuted by the Prosecutor’s Office in 2018 ..... Bad Priest!!
