| Real Or Fakes - Its Hard To Tell |
.... before criminals and others with bad intentions really latched on to the uses of A.I.We have already seen them using it in the various love scams such as Cat-fishing, by using A.I. to create deep-fake images to fool women (and men) that some handsome man or beautiful women have fallen for them on the Internet. Obviously there is market for deep-fake porn images and video's of women celebrities, which is illegal and both embarrassing and damaging for the women's reputations.
This use of deep-fake videos to aid in the scams, is a fact that political frauds have also latched on to, and so hundreds of fake videos of politicians giving false messages flooded social media in recent elections in the UK, USA and Europe. This is a big concern for the survival of democracy, but that's for another post.
But in Spain, fraudsters have been targeting Nuns and Convent's by using A.I to impersonate Bishops. One such attempt was to use a call from "the Bishop" (Sebastian Chico, Bishop of Jaen), to request that a convent transfer €5,000 (£4,300) to him, claiming that he needed it for an operation.
Luckily the nun taking the call was not fooled and said "Your not Don Seabastian, your voice is very hoarse" .... quick as a flash the A.I. replied "I am, I need the money for an operation on my throat." .... They didn't get the money on this occasion, but the A.I's quick witted answer shows what a danger these A.I'S are going to be in the future.
