Unnamed Ice Cream Licker

 ..... who was seen on CCTV opening a tub of Bluebell ice cream, licking the contents, then replacing the lid and returning the tub to the freezer.

The woman faced possible federal charges of tempering with a consumer product, which carries a sentence of between two and twenty years imprisonment, and fine of up to $10,000.

Suspect And Boyfriend

The video of the girl performing this unsavoury act went viral, and she was soon identified after crime stoppers got involved. She was a teenage girl from San Antonio, Texas, but as she was a juvenile, the Lufkin Police Department said the juvenile suspects identity was not being released, and the case was being turned over to the juvenile courts. 

The suspect could have faced a felony charge of tampering with a consumer product, which carries a prison term of up to 20 years but she was not expected to face adult charges, however the Lufkin PD was discussing with prosecutors on whether the suspects boyfriend should face some charges.

You have to wonder at the upbringing of this girl and her boyfriend, to even consider doing this ...of course this being members of what's often styled by themselves as the 'community,' it wasn't long before another member of that proud group, filmed themselves doing exactly the same thing.

D’Adrien Anderson - A 24 Year Old Juvenile Brain.

This time it was D’Adrien Anderson who filmed himself in August 2019 licking ice cream at a Texas Walmart, before putting the carton back into a supermarket freezer supermarket. He was caught on CCTV and the police arrested him at the store .... he claimed to the police that it was all a prank before he was going to going back in to buy it before anyone else did (although how he could be sure of this he was at a loss to explain) ....

Certainly Blue Bell Creameries couldn't be sure, and as a result of his actions the iconic Texas ice cream company, had to replace all of the ice cream in the Walmart freezer as a precaution, at a cost of $1,565. 

The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said that his office would treat any similar case seriously. Apparently this and the girls actions were part of some social media viral Blue Bell-licking trend amongst certain members of the community ..... Texas Governor Greg Abbott weighed in tweeting "Don't Mess With Texas... or with Blue Bell" after Anderson was arrested.

As for Anderson, well he was lucky his copycat stunt did not lead to him getting a more serious charge, and a long term in prison, but as it was, the 24 year old was sentenced to 30 days in prison. He was also sentenced to two years' probation and was fined $1,000 (£770) by the courts, and ordered to pay another $1,565 (£1,208) to Blue Bell Creameries. 

At least the fine was equal to the cost of the damages for a change .....
