A third of French adults dislike the English immensely, while just fifteen per cent of Germans feel the same.

Well If The French Were Worth Worrying About.

This news is probably not much of a surprise, except perhaps that its only a third of the French who dislike us immensely.

This was from a sample of 700 French and the same number of Germans being polled by TV channel HISTORY. I guess after a 1,000 years of mutual antagonism, the French have more reason to dislike us than most. However looking at it positively, two thirds of the French and nearly four sixths of Germans don't hate us immensely, they just have a low level dislike of us.

About the only things positive they find about us, are our good modern music, and our willingness to laugh about ourselves. ... not the worst things to be liked for when you think about it.

On the other hand, the researchers also polled 1,200 English adults and found we are generally proud to have many of the traits the other nationalities despised. Three quarters of us are also proud to live in Britain, although nearly eight in 10 do wish the English behaved a little better when visiting other countries.

The study also found that both the French and the Germans think the English are arrogant.
