.... police in Putnam County, Florida were flagged down by an anxious driver who was parked by the side of the highway.
The driver explained that there was a "weird noise" coming from his car when he was driving, and he was unable to track down the source, and wanted help to see if it was something that might indicate that the car wasn't roadworthy.
So the two officers examined the car and after a thorough search found that the source of the noise was in fact a small kitten which was hidden inside one of the wheel rims, and which was too scared to come out.

The officers had to remove the car wheel in order to release the kitten. A police spokesman said that "Deputies brought the kitten to Animal Control where he has the nickname, Trooper. Not sure if he likes car rides after that last trip".
Oh, and in case your wondering, Animal Control Putnam County are a no kill shelter unless the animal is deemed dangerous .... the thought had crossed my mind that he might have been safer in the wheel rim, but no, he's OK ..... One down, Eight more lives to live.
