..... but only with the correct permits.
How do I know this weird fact?Well a woman arriving into Minneapolis St Paul airport in October 2023 was stopped by customs, when she was found to be carrying a small box containing Giraffe poo. They confiscated it from her, despite her protestations that she was going to make a necklace from it. She apparently had done something similar with moose droppings collected in the USA.
She had collected the Giraffe poo herself (along with a dead snail apparently) while on a safari in Kenya. The customs service later destroyed the poo (what flushed it?), and issued a statement warning that the owner had risked contracting serious disease wearing it as a necklace (although I am pretty sure that the process of turning into a necklace would entail drying, coating and baking the poo, rendering it inert).
They also confirmed that she could have imported the poo, with the correct permits, that she hadn't obtained.
