| No, It Has Nothing To Do With Big Knobs! |
... maybe the more inventive of you might have thought outside the box and considered other less outre explanations.
After all 'knobs' can come in all shapes and sizes .... or even different objects. So this could be about human (male) knobs being thrown about an operating theatre, or could it be knobs and dials on a piece of equipment, or even as Google favours, 'knobs foe drawers'.
But no, its none of these or any other thing you have likely considered, unless that is, your a resident of the county of Dorset, England. Yes, its one of our strange regional 'sports' that this blog has reported on in the past.

| The Dorset Knob Biscuit |
The Dorset Knob Throwing Games involve contestants throwing the counties traditional dry, spherical, knob biscuits as far as possible. The knobs are made by Moores Biscuits, a family-run bakery in West Dorset, with a unique flavour and texture, achieved through a three-time baking process, and apparently ideal for throwing.
The games were held in Cattistock, near Dorchester but after 2018 they were stopped because the crowds had become too large (and knowing us Brits, a fair bit of drunken behaviour would be involved). However in 2024 the games were revived in 2024 as a part of the Cattistock County side show and this will include such fun events as knob painting, a knob and spoon race, and a 'Guess the weight of the big knob', knob darts and a knob pyramid .... in fact all things knobby.

| Pin The Knob On The Cerne Giant Was Popular, If Lacking In Imagination. |
With a straight face, an organiser said "We are not doing knob eating this year - we dont want people choking on a knob" .... but, he added, "but you can pin the knob on the Cerne Abbas Giant." .... who famously already has a very big knob already (and yes, I do mean that kind of knob).
