| Old Man Complains To Dublin Airport |
...... gets its fair share of noise complaints.
However, Dublin airport has the unique distinction that ninety per cent of all its complaints received in 2021 came from just one unnamed person. In fact that individual makes up the vast majority of all the complaints received every year.
In 2021 the individual made 12,272 noise complaints at an average of 34 every day. In 2020 they made just 6,227 complaints, so they are obviously doubling up in their efforts to make air planes silent (they can but try). The initial report on this little news snippet added that in 2022 the number of complaints this person was making had jumped up to an average of 59 per day and was on course to exceed 20,000 complaints.
I checked and yes they had indeed filed 23,431 complaints about aircraft noise at Dublin Airport in 2022, at a daily average of 64 complaints, making them once again responsible for nearly 90% of all complaints ... they had first started complaining in 2019. and the person is believed to live in the Northwest Dublin suburb of Ongar.
Now if you are wondering, I have decided that it must be an elderly, single, man, living under either the take-off or landing runways flight paths .... no one else could devote the anger, time and energy in to making that many fruitless complaints.
Apparently a few years ago, one person regularly complained to the Irish Language Commissioner to such an extent that they alone comprised 90% or so of all complaints. The person was also identified as being from North Dublin .... coincidence?
Personally, I don't believe in coincidences ....
