Wolverhampton man Shaun Watson, was enraged when his mother laughed at his heartfelt theory that former US President Barack Obama was an alien (shape changing?). So he launched into a violent attack upon her, punching her in the face, biting her nose, choking her.
During the assault Shaun Watson shouted at his mother: “I have hit bigger men than you, and they have gone down.” ....
The police had already been round to the house earlier that day, when neighbours complained after Mr Watson, his mother and girlfriend, had loudly rowed about conspiracy theories. An argument that had started in the pub where they had all been drinking.
In court his defence lawyer apparently kept a straight face (despite the fact that Watson had failed to turn up to court), when he said his client had not attended court for the case .....
...... because he did not want to lose his position as an enhanced prisoner at Dovegate Prison (a category b establishment), where he is awaiting sentence for another offence. But added that "He loves his mom, this was something brought on by drink" .... yeah, right, so he's not just a violent drunken cretin then?
He was given a three-year conditional discharge, partly because his mother didn't want him to go to prison for the attack, and also because the Magistrates felt that they were restricted in options for sentencing, by Watson’s current position in custody at Dovegate prison, Staffs, for the previous offence.
Alcohol is a factor in more crimes than any other drug .... if it was discovered now, it would be classed the same as drugs such as Heroin, Cocaine and Crystal Meth as a Class A drug.
