Judged By The Company You Keep - Hugh Lanning With Friends. |
Its even funnier, that when the Israeli government objects to the presence of these Palestinian supporters in Israel, the supporters bleat on about their human rights and the rule of law, (none of which are available in their friends lands), to complain. They actually cite "freedoms essential to democracy" as a complaint .... both Hamas and the PLO practise no democracy, let alone the essential freedoms of such a system, but they are not held to the same standards as Israel.
So I have no sympathy with the bleating's of a UK pro Palestinian activist, Hugh Lanning, the chairman of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (which claims it campaigns for "justice and equality for Palestinians" - while the Israeli's claim that PSC "leads the campaign in the UK to demonise and boycott Israel"), who has been deported and blocked from entering Israel, because of his vocal support for a movement (the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement), which urges a boycott of Israel.
Boycott Israel Campaign Supported By Many On The Left .... |
The Israeli Immigration Authority said Mr Lanning was stopped on the discretion of Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan. This after pictures emerged showing Mr Lanning in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, the then leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, in 2012.
Israel also pointed out that "Mr Lanning is associated with the leaders of Hamas, which is designated as a terror group across the European Union; a group whose anti-Semitic charter calls for killing all Jews ..... Those who promote extremism should not be allowed to foment their hatred in Israel."
Mr Lanning was also the Labour candidate for Canterbury and Whitstable in the 2015 general election .... possibly not a surprise given many in the Labour Parties views on Israel. Still if you are judged by the company you keep, perhaps Mr Lanning shouldn't be surprised if others object to the particular company he keeps.
I tend to agree ... double standards are applied by Hamas and PLO supporters. Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteDoes MrLanning suppott the death penalty? I bet not, if it happens in the USA or Israel.
ReplyDeleteBit not a word if Hamas do it.
Your probably not far off the mark. Thanks for the comment.

Mr Corbyn would no doubt agree with this as he has supported these thugs himself ...
